The character

Overview

Backslash Security needed a distinctive AI character that could become the foundation of its visual identity.

I designed the character from scratch and developed an AI workflow that enabled it to remain visually consistent across illustrations, animations and future content. Alongside the character, I created the first motion pieces that established its visual language.

Today, the character continues to serve as the foundation of Backslash's marketing, with Studio1 using it across campaigns, landing pages, banners, presentations and exhibition graphics.

The challenge

Creating a compelling character was only the beginning.

The real challenge was building a character system that could maintain a consistent identity across AI generated images and animation, while remaining flexible enough for future marketing needs and ongoing content production.

The first motion pieces set the character's visual language in motion. Since then, Studio1 has carried it across campaigns, landing pages, banners, presentations and exhibition graphics.

One character, many expressions

Before a single frame moved, the character had to hold a consistent identity across an entire emotional range — calm, alert, defensive, aggressive — the foundation everything else was built on.

Establishing the voice

Five short films introduced the character as Backslash's on-screen voice — turning everyday AI agent risks into a story employees actually watch.

The result

The project delivered more than a single character. It established a reusable visual asset that continues to support Backslash's brand across multiple platforms.

Since the initial launch, Studio1 has expanded the system into marketing campaigns, landing pages, banners, presentations, exhibition graphics and additional content, demonstrating the long-term value of a well-designed AI character.
