Overview
For the Red Sea Jazz Festival 2025, I was invited to create a visual world that captures the festival’s vibrant identity. The goal was to design a series of teaser animations that would not only promote the event but also translate its branding into living, breathing characters and stories.
The Challenge
How do you take an established jazz festival, with its own color palette and branding, and make it feel young, fresh, and playful – while keeping the spirit of jazz alive?
The challenge was to create a set of unique characters and short animated teasers that would lead up to a full video, bringing together music, imagination, and the Red Sea atmosphere.
The Process
I combined several AI-based image and video generation tools with detailed editing and animation in After Effects. Each character was carefully shaped through experimentation until they came alive with personality and movement.
The Outcome
The result is a series of teaser videos leading to a final full animation: all the characters gather in Eilat’s port, celebrating with music under the moon and sunrise, while introducing the line-up of world-class musicians performing at the festival.

Why AI
For many years, the Red Sea Jazz Festival has collaborated with artists to create its promotional visuals. This year, the festival embraced a new artistic approach – recognizing AI as a legitimate creative tool.
Jazz itself is both traditional and alive, constantly reinventing itself while staying rooted in its essence. In the same way, AI was used here as a modern artistic medium – not to replace creativity, but to expand it.
The festival gave me the freedom to explore, express, and build an imaginative visual world through AI tools combined with motion design. This dialogue between tradition and innovation is at the heart of both jazz and art.
